The classic red lip is an easy look but you have to do it right! Make sure those lips are exfoliated, primed, lined, and then the red can be applied. I love the red lip to tie a simple look together for a night out. Below are the top red lipsticks out there. They win my vote for their moisturizing effects since I have the driest skin ever and also their easy application. What are some of your favorites? Xo,
Carly

Valentine's Day is right around the corner. In addition to it being Valentine's Day, it is also my boyfriend (Scott) and I 2nd Anniversary! I don't love a huge to-do for this day; I just like undivided attention from both of us. No cell phones, no work, no errands - just hanging out and being with each other. Since we are saving for our Paris trip now I definitely don't want any crazy gifts. Here are some things though that no girl would turn down for just quick, cute, gifts: * Peonies - my favorite flower! * Movie Date - I don't necessarily want to go to the movies to see 50 Shades of Grey but I would like to go see The Imitation Game *Cute simple heart pendant - Forever 21 has some great simple buys. *New jammies - but one's I won't be embarrassed to wear in front of my boyfriend. *Quiet dinner and drinks with plenty of inappropriate jokes.
*Baking some cookies together. *Falling in love all over again...enjoy the season! Xo, Carly Sundays are my favorite days of the week. Sundays are the days I plan nothing and just see what happens. Family always finds it's way in and I'll usually clean my house. Sometimes I'll maybe see a movie or shop and others I'll lounge on the couch all day and I can't feel guilty about it. Here are some things that caught my interest this past week: I recently discovered this amazing company, She Reads Truth. I can read through their entire site and always want to come back and see what's next. Very inspirational. I need to order my Lent pack! I came across this video of a drone that went through Auschwitz. I couldn't stop watching this, it was haunting. It's crazy to think such awful things happened on beautiful land. The amazing, Joy the Baker, has a little baking bootcamp over on her site and I am going to try this! I love to bake but get ways too stressed in the kitchen. Joy has a way with her writing that calms me and lets me know that a mess is inevitable and to just roll with it and have fun. First on my list is this Triple Berry Cinnamon Swirl Bread. This past Christmas I received this lovely shower gel in my stocking from LUSH. The Olive Branch is perfect for my sensitive dry skin, the lather it creates is phenomenal, and I love the scent. If you have dry winter skin that you are battling with, give this a try! I can't forget my favorite thing this past week, my pretty new shiny MacBook Pro! Have a beautiful S U N D A Y.
Xo, Carly Happy New Year! I'm not one to make a resolution; I'm always moving on to the next thing to focus on one thing. This next "thing" I speak of could be the next dream I have or the next problem I am dealing with - not all good or bad. However it is life. Something I learned in the year 2014 is how to move on when something doesn't work out. I won't be able to speak up on everything and I won't be able to change everything. What I can do in the year 2015 is be hopeful that what is meant to be will be. Cheers to 2015 and what I am calling, "The Year of Travel." That's me being hopeful :-) Xo,
Carly I have worked almost each New Year that I was able to go out on. It's not my favorite because I would love to get all dolled up and go out with my boyfriend and friends to a place that we choose, not have to go to. This year I have to work again. However I am determined to get my boyfriend and friends to my work and make the best of it!! First way to make any situation good, look good while doing it! I plan on picking myself up the number on the top left; it's so perfect for a work appropriate NYE look. Do you have any fun plans?? If you're like me you probably waited until now to pick up an outfit for the New Year celebrations. Don't panic; click the links below each photo and get shopping!
