Spring has almost (and I say almost very lightly) sprung. Even though we still have snow on the ground that doesn't stop fashion and brands are launching their spring looks now. The two outfits below are great for this in between season. I recently was looking at the new Chuck Taylor Fresh Color line and fell in love. What's your favorite spring color palette? Xo,

Well hello there! Sorry for being off the blogging scene for a bit but February just swooped me away. This month marked my boyfriend and I’s first year anniversary which we celebrated with a little trip to Washington DC. It was his first time and he loved it and I always love visiting that city. You’re always surrounded by great people and fun sites! After getting back from that we have been getting hit with a lot of snow and I have been running around for work. Nonetheless I have found small spurts in the day to pick up my new favorite book and gobble up each and every syllable because it is so good! The novel I am referring to is written by Maria Semple who I find to be so effortless in her speech and it feels like your best friend is telling you the greatest story! The story I am referring to is Where’d You Go Bernadette. This novel is created around Bernadette’s fascinating yet simple life which is something she battles with daily. From being this world famous architect who had it all and slowly taking on the role of being a supportive wife for her husband who is a big deal over at Microsoft and taking care of their ever-charming daughter, Bee. I can see a little of myself in all of these characters. Bee is curious and wants to take on the role of an adult really quickly. She wants to know everything and loves being with her mom. Bernadette is a free spirit who is confined by society to fall into a certain role that I’m not sure she is really crazy about just yet. But after Bernadette runs off to Antarctica she maybe questions what she wants. I know that lately I feel torn and this book is allowing me to find humor in life. I am a creative soul who enjoys experiences instead of objects. I want to travel the world and spend as much time with my family as humanly possible. I want to be a wife and mother some day but be able to pick up and go when I want. I want to make a beautiful living for myself but only do everything I love. It’s hard to have it all, almost near impossible, but the least we can all do is find joy in going after it all. I suggest you all read this book and let me know your thoughts on it as well! Check me out on Instagram to see what I'm up to day to day! http://instagram.com/merciboston Xo,
Carly Yesterday my sister and I decided to take advantage of the surprisingly good weather and go shopping at this beautiful outdoor shopping mall we love. We were realizing quickly that the stores were in the process of slowly turning over from winter to spring fashion. And it's such an odd season because you never know if you need the winter coat or just a trench, or maybe you can wear just a sweater! It's the between season that comes with excitement because the color starts coming back into your wardrobe and the layers start peeling off! Below you can see a few pieces I saw that would be perfect for this in between! Has anyone else gone shopping lately and been as confused as we were? Bring on spring! Xo,
Carly As quick as I was hit with a 24 hour bug is as quick as I dove into daydreaming. While feeling like I was dying on the couch and my sister was taking care of me I was being roped into Keeping up with the Kardashian re-runs. The absolutely picture perfect Greece episode came on and I couldn't contain my happiness just watching them enjoy the sunshine and sites. I had to virtually enjoy these sites while moping around in my bathrobe. Now, I need to plan this trip :-) When the Kardashian's left Santorini to go to Mykonos, they stayed at the most beautiful resort. Check it out here. The style I would choose when going to Greece (someday) is simple, casual, and flowing. Greece seems like the place where you just be and everything feels perfect. Now go pack your bags: Maxi Dress, Peasant Top, Sandals from Top to Bottom - 1, 2, 3. I need to start practicing some go-to styles in case I want to change things up on a vacation. My straightener can't be my only tool! Always dream...
Xo, Carly Yesterday while at work (in an office with no windows) it started to flurry. Which then turned into a blizzard. And as stressful as snow can be I can't let it bog me down; I live in New England. As I sat the day away typing ferociously and answering emails I finally stepped outside to grab a coffee. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the snow - snow in the city is beautiful. However, I then thought I did not dress appropriately for this weather! Below are some of the pieces I wish I had and will certainly be looking into this week. What are your favorites? Xo, Carly |
